TechnoVector installation requirements

The primary installation of the device is made under a separate contract by the manufacturer service center or by a consumer, following the manufacturer's requirements is strongly recommended. The device works with a 4 post wheel alignment lift or repair pit, compliance with the horizontality requirements is needed.

The difference in level of front turntables and rear platforms must not exceed the sizes indicated in the picture.

pit.png

The device is installed so that the PC monitor can be seen by the operator who is at any individual wheel or under the vehicle while performing wheel alignment. The recommended device location is shown below.

Checking and setting level difference of the wheel platforms should be made before operating the device at a new workplace and also at time-from-time re-checking of the platforms, which periodicity must be determined by a consumer due to constructive instability of the used platforms.

Checking level difference of the platforms can be made by the manufacturer's service center.

It is recommended to connect the monitor, printer and electronic unit with a multiple socket and a voltage stabilizer.

Fundamental differences between various types of the TechnoVector 7

Fundamental differences between various types of the TechnoVector 7 wheel alignment systems are stipulated by camera mounting constructions and a total number of camera units.

The series of 4-camera wheel alignment systems without a electric motor drive.

al_4kam.jpg

The series of 4-camera wheel alignment systems without a lift includes the following modifications:

  • High T-shaped rack for the lift;
  • 2 separate high posts for the lift;
  • 2 separate low posts for the pit;
  • Beam wall-mount version.

Stationary camera mounting allows taking measurements both relative to the horizontal plane and relative to the plane made by the vehicle wheel-centers (dynamic recognition of the horizontal plane).

It is shown in the diagram that this series of 4-camera wheel alignment systems is equipped with long range vision cameras. This series of wheel aligners is suitable for use both with a lift and a pit. Low posts are designed to use with a pit.

The distance from the camera posts to the front wheel axes varies considerably - from 1200 mm to 3500 mm as opposed to 2-camera wheel alignment systems.

When installing the TechnoVector 7 wheel alignment systems in front of the lift, take into account the following workplace requirements for TechnoVector 7 (Lift).

The series of 2-camera wheel alignment systems without a electric motor drive.

Cameras are immovably fastened and it allows taking measurements both relative to the horizontal plane and relative to the plane set by wheel centers (dynamic determination of horizontal plane).

It is shown in the diagram that this series of 2-camera wheel aligners has height-limited vision range.

The distance from the camera posts to the front wheel axes is 1500-3500 mm.

While installing the TechnoVector 7 wheel alignment systems, take into account the following workplace requirements for TechnoVector 7 (Ramp, Pit).

The series of 2-camera wheel aligners with electric motor drive allows working only relative to the plane made by the vehicle wheel-centers (dynamic recognition of the horizontal plane).

It is shown in the diagram that this series of 2-camera wheel alignment systems is equipped with long range vision cameras. This series of wheel aligners is suitable for use both with a lift and a pit.

The distance from the camera posts to the front wheel axes is 1500-3500 mm.

When installing the TechnoVector 7 wheel alignment systems in front of the lift, take into account the following workplace requirements for TechnoVector 7 (Lift).

Workplace Requirements for TechnoVector 7 (Lift)

The TechnoVector 7 wheel alignment system installation in front of the lift

Before installing the device it is required to align the lift in the horizontal plane. Horizontality requirements are the same as for installing the TechnoVector 7 wheel alignment systems in front of the pit.

When installing the TechnoVector 7 wheel aligners in front of the lift, take into consideration the following factors:

  • Some lifts have closely adjacent posts (W-parameter)
  • Some lifts have front turnplate platforms closely located to the front posts (H-parameter)

Most of the 4 post wheel alignment lifts represented in the market are sized to mount the TechnoVector 7 wheel aligners within the tolerance range specified in the instruction.

Reference sizes:

Minimum distance to the wall, min X = 200 mm
Wheel aligner depth, Z = 320 mm (floor-mount version), 420 mm (wall-mount version).

There are lifts which require to minimize the L-distance or move front turnplates to the back because front posts of the lift obstruct the camera vision range.

In other words, posts obstruct targets. To understand if a lift or a workplace is suitable for the TechnoVector 7 wheel aligner installation, calculate the parameter "Width margin" according to the following formula.

B - distance between front camera units, consult the table.

L - distance from camera units to the front axle of the vehicle, mm, consult the table.

Wheel aligner type Distance B, mm Distance L, mm
4-camera wheel aligners 2340 1200-3500
2-camera wheel aligners with a lift 2360 1600-3000

W - distance between front posts of the lift, mm

H - distance from front posts of the lift to the front axle of the vehicle, mm.

Width margin= B +   L* (B - W)    - 2 830 *
L - H

* Value 2830 corresponds to the vehicle with maximum track width of 1763mm, with permissible deviation from the center line of the lift 25mm.
